Best Beauty Products to Travel With!
Updated: 12/12/2019: I typically wear a full face of make-up but when I’m traveling, I don’t want to spend my time putting on make-up and some climates are not very conducive to make-up (think hot, sandy beaches). However, I still need to feel like I don’t look like a hot mess when I take a million selfies with my husband. So below are my personal favorites for quickish, all weather, minimal tools, easy to apply make-up.
- Foundation: 1. Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation + Concealer, 2. L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
These both apply quickly with my fingers and blend really well easily. However, the L’Oreal one is easier to travel with and virtually impossible to break! I would say these are medium to full coverage with the Milani one being more full coverage. They both work well under or over concealers, primers, moisturizers, etc.
UPDATE: While the above Milani foundation is a great foundation, it is NOT great to travel with. Any with a plastic top and pump are iffy to travel with as those are easily broken and commonly leak out.
- Eyebrow pencil: Etude House Drawing Eye Pencil
My eyebrows are slightly sparse but have a good natural shape so I just fill in a bit with this. I don’t like the harshness of most other eyebrow pencils. This has a more a natural finish, similar to putting on colored powder on your brows. Also, this is SO CHEAP!
- Bronzer: Whatup Beaches
Really any bronzer will do but I like the color and packaging of this one. It doesn’t break easily which is key for traveling and a little color will go a long way. I also use this for eye shadow for quick looks.
- Lip product: Lancôme Matte Shaker High Pigment Liquid Lipstick
When you travel, you don’t want lip products melting or losing their shape so glosses and liquid lipsticks are the way to go. I particularly like these because they are long lasting and compact.
- Dry Shampoo: Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray
This stuff is amazing! When you are traveling, I appreciate any step I can skip so I can get out the door faster and explore! Skipping shampooing, conditioning, blow drying, etc… saves me a lot of time and fights with my husband. 😊 This stuff not only soaks up hair oil but adds volume and texture. It also smells pretty good.
- Eye Shadow: Colourpop Super Shock Shadow
To go along with the bronzer eye shadow, add some glitter and you are ready to go (if shimmer is your thing). I like these because I don’t need a brush to apply, just a finger. Less brushes the better when traveling.
- Concealer: NARS Soft Matte Concealer
Products that I love but don’t necessarily have any specific travel benefits:
I don’t always use concealer and certainly don’t always travel with it but if I know there will be an event or I will be photographed, I conceal a bit. 😉 This one is easy to apply and blend with your fingers (can you tell this is my preferred makeup application tool?).
- Blush: Flower Pots Powder Blush in Peach Primrose.
This is a fantastic color with amazing pigment. Update: This is actually terrible for travel because of the plastic lid that breaks easily.
- Mascara: Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara (not pictured)
This an incredibly cheap, impressive looking mascara. If you use a primer underneath, it pops even more! I keep trying other mascaras (which is why it is not currently in my beauty bag) not believing a $4 mascara is the best but it really is the best!
I hope you found this helpful and I wish you the best in your future travels hot stuff! 😉
